Halloween Cupcakes
Here's an easy peasy cupcake recipe for the kids to make, they'll need just a little help from you with melting the butter and popping them in and out of the oven. They're super quick and yummy! We made some caterpillars in dirt on the holidays and I thought if you add grubs instead of sweet caterpillars they would be awesome for halloween...

2 Cups Self Raising Flour
3/4 cup caster sugar
3/4 cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
125gms butter, melted, cooled
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Icing
40 grams butter, softened
2 cups icing sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
2 tablespoons warm water approx
Milo for decorate
sour worm lollies to decorate
Line a patty pan tray with paper liners
Stir the flour and sugar together into a bowl
Add vanilla to milk
Add milk, eggs and butter to flour mixture and stir until smooth
Spoon into patty pan liners (about half full)
Bake at 180 degrees for 12-15 minutes
Cool on a wire rack before decorating (or eat while warm!)
Makes about 12 cupcakes
For Icing
Mix the softened butter with the icing sugar and cocoa and add water a little at a time as needed to make a soft spreadable consistency. Ice the top of the cakes and dip the cake into the Milo to create the 'dirt' add sour worms to each cupcake. Enjoy!
Happy Halloween!
ps.. If there's a few allergies in your house...you could use Gluten free flour, replace sugar with Stevia, replace butter with nuttelex and milk with soy, almond or coconut milk. You can also use wholemeal flour rather than white flour. You can also add yummy things like cocoa to make chocolate cupcakes, raspberries, chocolate chips, colouring etc.
